TELUS Living Nanaimo

TELUS has partnered with Omicron to transform a 2.75‑acre lot at 400 Fitzwilliam Street—currently home to TELUS’ Central Office in Nanaimo, BC; into a new purpose‑built rental community. On behalf of TELUS, Omicron has submitted a Subdivision application and a Development Permit application, including a height variance request, to enable the construction of TELUS LIVING Nanaimo on the vacant portion of the land.

Now under construction and set for completion in 2026, the development will introduce 195 new market rental homes within walking distance of Nanaimo’s vibrant downtown harbourfront and historic uptown neighbourhoods. TELUS LIVING Nanaimo is composed of two six‑storey buildings connected through a comprehensive landscape and public realm strategy designed to animate and enhance the development’s three public street frontages at Wallace, Wentworth, and Richards Street.

The project is thoughtfully designed to serve a wide cross‑section of the community. It will be distinguished by classic and contemporary exterior architecture, lush landscaping, interiors inspired by nature, and a diverse mix of unit types and sizes. The development also includes accessible and adaptable age‑in‑place homes, generous indoor and outdoor amenity and workspace areas, integrated technology offerings, and a low environmental footprint.

Located within the boundaries of the Downtown Urban Plan, TELUS LIVING Nanaimo aligns with the City of Nanaimo’s housing priorities and supports the Community Sustainability Action Plan. It represents both a significant new rental supply and a strategic investment in the city’s long‑term resiliency and recovery efforts.

Omicron is providing development management, design, and construction services for the project, with TELUS set to own the completed development.
