Robson Square Renewal
Preserving a Vancouver icon, this five-year renewal project revitalized Robson Square’s architectural and landscape heritage while ensuring its safety, comfort, and longevity for decades to come.
Originally designed in the late 1970s by renowned Canadian architect Arthur Erickson and landscape architect Cornelia Hahn Oberlander, Robson Square is an internationally recognized landmark in the city’s downtown core. In 2003, Omicron was engaged to review and develop renewal strategies for the facility, focusing on maintaining its architectural significance and preparing it for the next 25 years of service life.
By 2004, Omicron delivered a detailed three-year remediation plan and budget, covering architectural and landscaping upgrades, construction documentation, tendering, and construction administration for the building envelope and landscape restoration. Following approval, Omicron executed the full scope of services outlined in the final remediation plan.
