National Works Yard - City of Vancouver

Omicron contributed to the award-winning National Avenue Operations Centre, a 12-acre engineering operations facility featuring a technically complex program that included an administration center, garage and radio shop, parking operations, warehouses, car wash, and fueling station.

As the City of Vancouver’s pilot initiative for sustainable design, the project served as a showcase for the City’s many sustainability strategies and a test case for emerging technologies. The two administrative buildings were the first in Canada to achieve LEED Gold certification from the Canada Green Building Council.

The facility consolidated operations for eight City branches and provided administrative support for approximately 400 employees, with capacity for future growth over the next 10 to 20 years after the project was completed.
