Life Labs Relocation

LifeLabs engaged Omicron to create efficiencies in their two existing biomedical lab facilities in Burnaby and Surrey, BC. Following numerous feasibility studies, including co-locating all staff and functions into one facility, LifeLabs decided to retain their existing facilities and amalgamate common functional groups, creating “Centres of Excellence” at each building. As LifeLabs’ operations are critical in our community, the facilities had to maintain full operations throughout the duration of the construction. In collaboration with our Client, a phased renovation program was developed to ensure that the renovation to the space could be completed without disruption to LifeLabs’ operations. This included the construction of a 4,000 sq.ft. modular laboratory that acted as swing space during the project.

Omicron provided architecture, engineering, interior design and construction services for the design and construction of LifeLabs’ new space.
