British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) hired Omicron to design and build their new 47,000 sq.ft. regulatory campus to accommodate the consolidation of the three largest nursing colleges along with other small health regulators. The space emphasizes equal access to daylight and views for all staff members, and key objective was to increase collaboration. We created opportunities to increase engagement and activity around the office, designing areas that accommodate different styles of work. Throughout the process, we engaged end users across different colleges by providing them with VR tours of the space coming together. We provided proper acoustic finishes and secondary spaces where people can work collaboratively, and allocating noise to enclosed rooms and quiet space at desks.

Using VR goggles, we created five 360° panoramic views of the key design areas and took BCCNP stakeholders to the exact location of each view before construction began. This gave our client the opportunity to experience the bright and airy space and resolve their initial concerns that the space was too busy.
