BC Hydro - Port Alberni Operations Facility

The new Port Alberni field operations facility was designed, through an Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) process, with BC Hydro's `Workplace Transformation Initiative` principles and LEED certification at the forefront of the process.

The operations facility is a mixed-use building comprising both office and industrial spaces. Omicron collaborated with all stakeholders to address issues of safety, employee satisfaction, productivity and sustainability. The resulting design is a high-performance building that meets all operational needs and will see a 75% reduction in energy while sitting lightly on the land with respect to site development.

The new facility was recently certified LEED Gold by the Canada Green Building Council.
