BC Hydro - Nanaimo District Office

Omicron provided design and construction services for this 100,000 sq.ft. facility to accommodate vehicle bays, office, and an upgraded yard design that included new and repurposed outbuildings. The original site contained a 52,000 sq.ft. complex of office and industrial buildings of varying quality and conditions. In May 2012, Omicron completed a pre-design (project definition) report which identified a new facility of approximately 100,000 sq.ft. would be required to fulfill BC Hydro’s long-term needs to remain in this location. We repurposed a portion of an existing building on the site, and expanded on the same site to meet program requirements for office and industrial uses. BC Hydro’s Nanaimo District office remained fully operational through this project.
