As a LEED Accredited Professional and Registered Professional Engineer with Omicron, Rod brings to the design process a keen interest in the emerging field of high-performance buildings and sustainable design practices. He is responsible for leading Omicron’s Mechanical Engineering discipline and focuses on HVAC, plumbing systems, fire protection design, design management and coordination for commercial, light industrial, institutional and retail projects. As BIM Manager, Rod is also responsible for the implementation and ongoing management of the Building Information Modeling (BIM) Process at Omicron.
Rod was one of the key team members involved with the design and construction of the award-winning LEED Gold certified City of Vancouver National Works Yard project and Omicron’s LEED Gold CI (Commercial Interiors) office renovation. He has also performed numerous due diligence reviews and condition assessments on buildings throughout BC, Alberta and Washington State. As part of Omicron’s condition assessment team, Rod has been involved in assessments of over 15 million square feet of real estate, ranging from high rise office buildings, to industrial warehouses, institutional buildings and retail buildings.
Rod is married with one young child. He plays bass in a band, and also likes
to golf and snowboard.
