Omicron, Western Canada’s largest integrated design and construction firm, is proud to have Requalified as one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies in the 2011 program. This is Omicron’s second year of requalification after initially winning the Best Managed award in 2009. Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies continues to be the mark of excellence for Canadian-owned and managed companies with revenues over $10 million.
“Companies that successfully requalify for the prestigious Canada’s 50 Best Managed Program are making a positive impact in the Canadian marketplace by pursuing innovation and investing in meeting the needs of their clients,” said Jon Hountalas, Executive Vice-President, Business Banking, CIBC.
Since our inception in 1998, Omicron has seen our business model flourish in Western Canada. Our model entails the delivery of integrated client-focused design and construction solutions that are faster, better and more cost effective than traditional delivery mechanisms in our industry. Omicron’s success is grounded in our integrated project delivery approach; our knowledgeable and professional staff complement; the strength of our client and supplier relationships; the diversified nature of our business model; and our commitment to sustainability in our internal and external business operations.
“Omicron’s integrated approach is fairly unique in Western Canada and represents the cornerstone of our commitment to deliver excellence for clients and staff alike. We are extremely honoured to be recognized by the Best Managed program again and consider this Requalification to be a continued endorsement of the agility, performance, competitiveness, innovation and credibility of our team and business operations,” said Bill Tucker, CEO of Omicron.
“We would like to congratulate Omicron and its entire workforce. Achieving Canada’s highest level of Canadian business excellence takes a united effort and we are privileged to acknowledge such a strong team,” said John Hughes, Partner, Private Company Services, Deloitte.
2011 winners of the Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies award, along with Requalified, Gold Standard and Platinum Club members will be honoured at the annual Best Managed gala in Toronto in March.

About Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies
Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies continues to be the mark of excellence for Canadian-owned and managed companies with revenues over $10 million. Every year since the launch of the program in 1993, hundreds of entrepreneurial companies have competed for this designation in a rigorous and independent process that evaluates their management skills and practices. The awards are granted on four levels: 1) Best Managed winner (one of the 50 new winners selected each year); 2) Requalified member (repeat winners retain the Best Managed designation for two additional years, subject to annual operational and financial review); 3) Gold Standard winner: after three consecutive years of maintaining their Best Managed status, these winners have demonstrated their commitment to the program and successfully reapplied for the designation. Companies may requalify for two additional years, subject to annual operational and financial review; 4) Platinum Club member (winners that maintain Best Managed status for a minimum of six consecutive years.). Program sponsors are Deloitte, CIBC Commercial Banking, National Post and Queen's School of Business. For further information, visit www.canadas50best.com.
