For the second year in a row, Omicronians pulled together on Clean Air Day to decrease our CO2 emissions by walking, cycling, carpooling and taking public transit to work.
With 97.7% participation in the 2008 Better Environmentally Sound Transportation (BEST) Commuter Challenge, Omicron placed 2nd in the 100 - 250 company size category in Metro Vancouver and 2nd overall nationally!
The goal of the Commuter Challenge is to get as many people across Canada to commute to work using sustainable modes of transportation such as walking, cycling, transit and carpooling, in order to reduce green house gas emissions.
Leading up to the event, the Challenge Committee surveyed staff regarding their commute to work and used the results to help plan carpools, arrange transit options and organize a cycling commuter group.
As a reward for participation, the firm's Principals cooked up a delicious waffle breakfast. Congratulations to all participants! Let's keep it up throughout the year!
