Omicron named one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies

February 16, 2010

Omicron Canada Inc., Western Canada’s largest integrated design and construction firm, is excited to be named a 2009 winner of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies program. This prestigious national award is sponsored by Deloitte, CIBC Commercial Banking, National Post and Queen’s School of Business. Omicron triumphed over thousands of other applicants to win this award and is especially proud to have achieved this success in our first year of application to the program.

“Over the past 17 years, Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies program has recognized the most innovative and Best Managed Companies in Canada. We are delighted to celebrate the accomplishments of Omicron,” said John Hughes, Partner, Private Company Services group with Deloitte, a national sponsor of the Best Managed program.

Since our inception in 1998, Omicron has seen our business model flourish in Western Canada. Our model entails the delivery of integrated client-focused design and construction solutions that are faster, better and more cost effective than traditional delivery mechanisms in our industry. Omicron’s success is grounded in our integrated project delivery approach; our knowledgeable and professional staff complement; the strength of our client and supplier relationships; the diversified nature of our business model; and our commitment to sustainability in our internal and external business operations.

“Omicron’s integrated approach is fairly unique in Western Canada and represents the cornerstone of our commitment to deliver excellence for clients and staff alike. We are extremely honoured to be recognized by the Best Managed program and consider this award a firm endorsement of the performance, competitiveness, credibility and sustainability of our operations,” said Bill Tucker, CEO of Omicron.

About Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies
Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies continues to be the mark of excellence for Canadian-owned and managed companies with revenues over $10 million. Every year since the launch of the program in 1993, hundreds of entrepreneurial companies have competed for this designation in a rigorous and independent process that evaluates their management skills and practices. The awards are granted on three levels: 1) Best Managed winner (one of the 50 new winners selected each year); 2) Requalified member (repeat winners retain the Best Managed designation for two additional years, subject to annual operational and financial review); 3) Platinum Club member (winners that maintain Best Managed status for a minimum of six consecutive years.). Program sponsors are Deloitte, CIBC Commercial Banking, National Post and Queen's School of Business.
