Omicron, in collaboration with Raven Design, is excited to announce the
completion of the first of a three phase large scale renovation to
accommodate SFU's Surrey Campus in the Central City office tower and
mall complex.
Phase 1A is a 30,000 sq.ft. tenant fitout on the 14th and 15th floors
of the Tower to house the administrative and operations functions of
faculty and staff. Phase 1A was officially opened by Simon Fraser
University President Michael Stevenson on November 5, 2004. Omicron
is providing integrated Architecture and Engineering Services in
collaboration with interior designers Raven Design.
Phase 1B of this $15 million project is completing design documentation,
and is due to start construction in Spring 2005. When completed for
September 2006, SFU Surrey will move into the 193,000 sq.ft. university
campus which will provide space for the School of Integrated Arts and
Technology (SIAT), a state-of-the-art Computer Science department, lecture
theatres, classrooms and lab spaces and a 30,000 volume Library for the
University and public.
