Omicron is proud and excited to announce that oqoqo on West 4th Avenue, one of our innovative retail projects, has received a merit award in the Retail Store Design category of the ICSC 2007 Canadian Shopping Centre Awards. This annual awards program is designed to celebrate the Canadian retail industry's brightest and best design, promotion and construction projects.
oqoqo (pronounced oh-coh-coh) is a retail venture spun off from the wildly successful Lululemon franchise started by local entrepreneur Chip Wilson. Omicron recently completed the interior fitout of the newest oqoqo store on West 4th Avenue.
This unique retail fitout was guided by Lululemon's corporate philosophy to operate more sustainably. Lululemon sought out Omicron for this assignment based on our industry leading expertise in the design of sustainable interior environments. Using LEED® design criteria as a measure, oqoqo on West 4th Avenue incorporates pine-beetle stained timber, FSC-certified Fir flooring, river rock tiles, recycled products, glass and glasss tile set against a background of pristine white walls and ceiling.
The entire project was delivered in four months from proposal submission to ribbon cutting and the success of the project speaks directly to Omicron's integrated approach to project design and delivery.
