Omicron is excited to announce that the Evergreen Building Restoration and Renewal project has received a City of Vancouver Heritage Award of Honour.
The heritage restoration and rehabilitation of the Evergreen Building on West Pender Street in Vancouver comprised a major private investment in this 30 -year old masterpiece, designed by renowned Canadian architect, Arthur Erickson.
The leadership of the Project Managers, Bentall Kennedy (Canada) LP, and the commitment of the Owners, bcIMC Realty Corporation, were a key success factor in the planning and implementation of this important heritage project. Omicron’s Integrated Project Delivery team of Architects, Engineers and Construction Managers was given a unique opportunity by the owners to preserve this historic example of the work of a great architect.
The scope of work included: envelope replacement (glazing), rehabilitation of the lobby, planter and balcony remediation and upgrade, base building systems upgrade to LEED® for Existing Buildings standards, office interiors upgrade and lobby revitalization.
The awards gala was held on April 11, 2011 and was hosted by Mayor Gregor Robertson. The annual awards program honours the extraordinary efforts of architects, community organizations, developers, writers, artists and ordinary citizens who work to preserve our heritage. In addition to celebrating the 125th anniversary of the City of Vancouver, this was the 25th year of the City’s heritage program.
