Omicron has significant expertise in building condition assessments and renewals (reviewing architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and construction components). Our due diligence and condition assessment group reviews 5-10 million sq.ft. of property each year in all sectors of business including institutional, commercial, retail and residential.

We have worked on a number of facilities including the Royal BC Museum in Victoria and Robson Square in Vancouver. Our team of architects and engineers provide the broad range of expertise necessary to perform a thorough analysis of the architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical aspects of any site. We also have access to specialists that include award-winning heritage consultants, building code, roofing and security experts and landscape architects.

UBC Campus Audit—Vancouver, BC
Comprehensive (room by room) audit of 45 campus buildings and all components including replacement and repair costs.

Corrections BC Prison Assessment Project—Various locations, BC
Physical condition assessments of nine Provincial Correctional Centres and development of an Asset Expenditure/Management Plan for the next 10 years.

UBC Fire Hall/Office Workshops—Vancouver, BC
Building condition and code assessment for a 2-bay Fire Hall and associated living quarters and offices.

City of Vancouver Manitoba Works Yard—Vancouver, BC
Building condition assessment to determine if the main City works yard, with 3 major buildings (administration, stores and sanitation relay station), could be re-used as part of a major upgrade project.

Robson Square—Vancouver, BC
Omicron was engaged to review and prepare renewal strategies for this landmark 1.2 million sq.ft. facility in downtown Vancouver. Omicron’s role was to assess renewal requirements to preserve the architectural significance of this facility while preparing it for the next 25 years of service life. $15 million in upgrades were identified and Omicron was engaged to lead the remediation.

Royal British Columbia Museum—Victoria, BC
Condition assessment of the entire museum complex, including the Exhibit Hall, Curatorial Tower and Archives Building.
